Representation at Public Inquiries, Commissions of Inquiry and Coroners' Inquests
Our firm's wealth of experience with commissions of inquiry and inquests make us well-equipped to provide able representation for our clients.
David Paciocco and Vincent Clifford were Commission Counsel for the lengthy and complex Taman Inquiry in Winnipeg, which spanned many months in 2008. The Inquiry resulted in numerous recommendations to the Attorney General of Manitoba, spurring sweeping changes to police conduct, oversight and discipline in Manitoba.
In addition, Michael Edelson represented a client who was prominently involved in the House of Commons' Standing Committee on Public Accounts' inquiry into the events of the “Sponsorship Scandal".
We have also represented civilians and police officers at numerous coroners’ inquests in the province of Ontario.
