Connie D'Angelo

Connie D'Angelo is one of the partners of Edelson & Friedman LLP, and has worked with Michael Edelson since 1991.  She received her Bachelor of Social Science, concentration in Criminology, in 1988, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa.  She went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa Law School, in 1991, where she also won the award for the highest academic standing in criminal law.   She was called to the Bar of Ontario, in 1993, and has practiced exclusively in the area of criminal law.

Connie has worked on the preparation and defence of homicides, drug offences, drinking and driving offences, motor vehicle fatalities, sexual offences, white collar crime, coroner’s inquests, police officers charged with criminal and disciplinary offences, as well as appearing before the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Connie’s passion for legal research and legal writing has produced innovative and effective legal memorandums and factums, that have been submitted to all levels of Courts, in the areas of unreasonable search and seizure, arbitrary detention, the right to a fair trial, the right to counsel, unreasonable delay, and drinking and driving offences.  Her formidable legal knowledge, expertise, and preparation, enables her to provide strategic analysis from the outset.  By devising creative, successful and often precedent setting legal arguments, she provides unparalleled service to her clients.
