Company Overview

Ottawa‘s leading criminal law firm is seeking to add to its dynamic team.  We are currently looking for a legal clerk; this is a full time, permanent position.  The successful candidate will work directly for our firm's lawyers and report to the business manager.


  • Manage calendar for lawyers and other staff as required,
  • Communicate with clients through correspondence, email or over the phone
  • Maintain, organize, and summarize all files and documents
  • Review documents, compile information and report on status  
  • Draft documents and organize documents for files 
  • Assist lawyer as necessary on documents and files 
  • Liaise with clients, lawyers and other staff 
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers and other staff as necessary


  • Five or more years experience in a similar role 
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative as required 
  • Knowledge of legal procedures, statutes and regulations applicable to criminal law
  • Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent
  • Very knowledgeable with MS Office, PC Law and excellent keyboarding skills 
  • Extremely organized with excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills
